Lagos, Nigeria – The Lagos State Police Command has charged 45-year-old Stella Nwadigbo regarding the indecent treatment and assault of a three-year-old child.

On Thursday, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State Command, issued the statement on X.

Today, Magistrate Court 1 in Ogba held an important legal proceeding regarding allegations against Nwadigbo’s abusive behavior toward a pupil.

The court addressed claims that Nwadigbo appeared in a distressing viral video, which depicted her mistreatment of the child.

The troubling incident gained widespread attention when the video surfaced, leading to immediate public outrage. Consequently, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of Ikorodu Police Division swiftly arrested Nwadigbo on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. After her apprehension, she was moved to the Gender Unit at the Command Headquarters for further inquiry. During this time, the victim was provided with essential medical care at a local facility.

Nwadigbo has been placed in the Kirikiri Correctional Facility, where she will stay until February 18, 2025, for the continuation of court hearings. This action highlights the judicial system’s commitment to child protection and proper legal processes.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, acknowledged the public’s proactive reporting efforts, praising citizens for their alertness.

Furthermore, he assured the community that the Lagos State Command is ready to respond effectively to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Moreover, the Lagos State Police emphasize the necessity of community engagement in reporting similar incidents.
