Liverpool Football Club has announced a groundbreaking multi-year sponsorship deal with global sportswear giant Adidas, believed to be worth up to £70 million annually.

The partnership marks the return of Adidas as the club’s official kit supplier, replacing Nike after a five-year collaboration.

The agreement, set to commence on August 1, 2025, will see Adidas provide match kits, training gear, and lifestyle apparel for all of Liverpool’s men’s, women’s, and Academy teams, as well as staff from the LFC Foundation.

This will be the third time in the club’s history that players will don the iconic Adidas three stripes, following previous partnerships from 1985 to 1996 and 2006 to 2012.

During these earlier collaborations, Liverpool enjoyed significant success, winning multiple trophies, including three league titles and three FA Cups.

The reunion with Adidas has sparked excitement among fans and club officials alike, as they look forward to creating new iconic kits and continuing the club’s legacy of excellence.

Billy Hogan, Chief Executive of Liverpool FC, expressed his enthusiasm for the renewed partnership:
“Everyone at the club is incredibly excited to welcome Adidas back into the LFC family.

“We have enjoyed fantastic success together in the past and created some of the most iconic LFC kits of all time.

“Adidas and Liverpool share an ambition of success, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner together again as we look forward to creating more incredible kits to help drive on-pitch performance.

“We’d like to thank Nike for their support over the last five years and wish them well for the future.”

“We are honored to once again provide the players with cutting-edge technology to perform at the highest level and are looking forward to creating more classics for the fans.”

Details of the new Adidas Liverpool kits, including home and away designs, will be revealed through official club and Adidas channels.

Fans will be able to purchase the new kits starting August 1, 2025.

This deal underscores Liverpool FC’s global appeal and commercial strength, further solidifying its position as one of the most prestigious football clubs in the world.

Previous partnership between Liverpool and Adidas

Liverpool FC and adidas have a rich and storied history together, having collaborated during some of the club’s most iconic eras.

Their first partnership spanned from 1985 to 1996, a period that saw the Reds dominate English football.

During this time, the club secured an impressive array of trophies, including three domestic league titles and seven domestic cup titles.

The partnership was rekindled from 2006 to 2012, a period that saw Liverpool FC continue to add to their trophy cabinet.

The club won four more domestic cup titles during this time, solidifying their reputation as one of England’s most successful and beloved clubs.

Throughout both partnerships, adidas played a crucial role in designing and manufacturing the club’s iconic jerseys, many of which are still revered by fans today.

Some of the jerseys produced during these partnerships are considered among the most loved kits of the era.

The classic designs, bold colors, and innovative materials all contributed to the creation of truly iconic jerseys.

From the bold red and white stripes of the 1980s to the sleek, modern designs of the 2000s.
