LONDON, England — Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has said Mykhailo Mudryk will need time to regain full match fitness following his return after serving a suspension.
Alonso said the Ukrainian winger has resumed training with the squad but is not yet at his peak physical condition after spending a lengthy period away from competitive football.
The Chelsea boss explained that rebuilding match sharpness takes time and that the club’s coaching staff will carefully manage Mudryk’s workload to ensure he returns to full fitness without unnecessary setbacks.
According to Alonso, it is normal for players coming back from long absences to require several matches before reaching their best form. He expressed confidence that Mudryk has the quality and determination to make a strong impact once he is fully fit.
Mudryk’s return gives Chelsea another attacking option ahead of the new Premier League season. The winger is known for his pace, dribbling ability and direct style of play, attributes the club believes will strengthen its attack.
Chelsea are expected to ease the 25-year-old back into action through gradual increases in playing time rather than rushing him into a regular starting role.
Alonso also appealed to supporters to be patient, stressing that returning players need time to rebuild confidence and rhythm after being out of competitive football.
Chelsea remain optimistic that Mudryk will rediscover his best form and become an important part of the team’s plans as the season progresses.
