NAF strengthens defense partnership with Pakistan during high-level visit

Abuja, Nigeria – April 12, 2025- In a significant step toward global security, Nigeria and Pakistan reaffirmed their defense partnership during a high-profile meeting in Abuja on April 10, 2025.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, commended Nigeria’s leadership as a stabilizing force in Africa during his visit to the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters.

“Nigeria is a regional power—a nation that commands respect,” he declared, applauding the professionalism of Nigerian forces in combating regional instability.

General Mirza emphasized Pakistan’s advanced defense technologies, such as combat drones and aircraft systems, while inviting Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to tour Pakistan’s defense facilities. “Collaboration is key to overcoming modern security threats,” he asserted, stressing the value of joint innovation.
