NASA and SpaceX set to launch Crew-10 mission today

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and SpaceX Crew-10 mission is scheduled to launch today Friday March 14, 2025, at 7:03 PM.
Spacex announced this update on X (formerly Twitter), following a delay earlier this week caused by technical difficulties.
As previously reported, the crew announced on Spacex that the initial launch attempt on Wednesday, March 12, was cancelled just 44 minutes before liftoff.
It’s said that the Crew-10 mission will send four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).
The four astronauts include: Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers from NASA, Takuya Onishi from Japan’s JAXA, and Kirill Peskov from Russia’s Roscosmos.
This mission will mark McClain’s second spaceflight and the first for Ayers and Peskov.
The Crew-10 mission is expected to return two NASA astronauts, Barry Butch Wilmore and Sunita Suni Williams, who have been stranded on the ISS since June 2024.
Their return was delayed because of issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.
Furthermore, they were supposed to stay in space for only a short time, but their stay has been extended.
They are expected to return home, soon after Crew-10 arrives at the ISS.
NASA stated that the spacecraft to be used for this mission is SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule, named “Endurance”.
The capsule is said to have successfully flown on previous missions, and NASA and SpaceX will reuse it to speed up the mission and help bring Wilmore and Williams home .
The Crew incited that, scientific research will be carry out on the ISS to help prepare for future human space exploration beyond low earth orbit.
The astronauts also assured that their arrival at the ISS will help Wilmore and Williams join the Crew-9 astronauts and begin their journey back to Earth.
The Crew-10 mission will launch from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
After this launch, the first stage of the rocket will land at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
NASA has reconfirm that this mission, marks a significant moment in international collaboration in space exploration, with astronauts from NASA, Japan, and Russia working together on the ISS.
