New PDP National Secretary is Ben Obi not Peter Obi

Published

on

Since yesterday, till this moment, I have received avalanche of calls, ranging from those congratulating Mr. Peter Obi on emerging the new National Secretary of the

PDP, some just to confirm the authenticity of the news.

All of them adding that with his emergence, the hope for the restructuring and the re-positioning of the party is now assured.

I do not know whence the news.

It could be an innocent mistake from people . It could be the wishes of people who want it transported from the realm of potentiality to that of actuality.

It could even be another plot by the usual pranksters desperate for a knock-out blow, that is the utter destruction of Obi. These are however conjectural.

The fact is that the new NS is Sen. Ben Obi, a man every inch as qualified as any we can think of.

While we congratulate him and other National Officers, we shall keep hope alive that the progressive rediscovery of the PDP has started in earnest.

Sen. Ben Obi, intelligent, urbane and usually serene, had faced many national challenges in the past, where he was expected to prove his mettle.

Honestly, he was mettlesome enough in all of them. Those that know him almost vowed that the present assignment would not be different.
