British actor Noel Clarke has been charged with six sexual offences following a Metropolitan Police investigation into allegations involving five women.

The 50-year-old actor, known for his roles in Doctor Who and Kidulthood, was charged with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2007 and 2016.

The CPS authorised the charges on Wednesday after reviewing evidence gathered by detectives investigating the allegations.

A man, then in his 40s, was initially arrested on 25 September 2025 in connection with the investigation. Police subsequently submitted an evidence file to the CPS, which determined that there was sufficient evidence to bring the case before a court and that prosecution was in the public interest.

In a statement, the CPS said its prosecutors had worked to establish that the evidence met the threshold required to bring the case to court.

Clarke has not publicly responded to the charges at the time of reporting.

He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 21 October at 10:00 BST.

Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, whose team is leading the investigation, said the women connected to the charges were continuing to receive support from specially trained officers.

He also encouraged anyone who had experienced sexual assault to contact the police, assuring potential victims that information provided would be handled sensitively.

Clarke rose to prominence after playing Mickey Smith in the long-running BBC science-fiction series Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010.

He subsequently established himself across the British entertainment industry as an actor, writer, producer and director, earning recognition for projects including Kidulthood and its follow-up Adulthood.

The latest charges mark a new legal development in the allegations against the actor. However, the charges remain allegations at this stage, and Clarke has not been convicted of any offence.

The case will now proceed through the courts, where the allegations will be examined and Clarke will have the opportunity to respond to the charges.
