One year and more, our pearl, our morning light,
You came and turned our darkness into sight;
Ntaeshe Nachikandụdị—jewel of our soul,
You made our scattered fragments beautifully whole.
Before you, we were simply two hearts on life’s shore;
You gave us names we had never carried before.
You did not merely enter life—you gave us a start,
And quietly built your kingdom in our heart.
O precious child, whose presence makes us new,
Life found a deeper meaning when it gave us you;
You are the question time has placed within our care,
And love is the answer breathing everywhere.
May wisdom light your path, may grace your footsteps guide,
May courage be your shelter and truth walk by your side;
And wherever life’s long rivers choose to flow,
Remember: you are the little soul who made us whole.
