Okporoko says Deltans will re-elect Oborevwori in 2027

(DDM) – A senior aide to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has declared that the governor will be re-elected in the 2027 general elections.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Ambassador Chief Godwin Okporoko, the governor’s Executive Assistant on Security Matters, made the statement in Asaba while addressing supporters.

Okporoko, who also chairs the Ughelli South United Forum, said Deltans remain satisfied with Oborevwori’s leadership, pointing to the governor’s grassroots empowerment initiatives as proof of his popularity.

He explained that the empowerment of 1,000 persons in every ward across the state had given residents renewed confidence in the administration.

According to him, the program has created opportunities for young people, market women, and vulnerable groups to benefit directly from government interventions.

Okporoko declared that “there is no vacancy in Government House until 2031,” stressing that Oborevwori’s performance guarantees him a second term.

He further praised the governor’s political alignment with President Bola Tinubu, noting that the partnership is delivering practical benefits to Delta State.

Okporoko argued that the collaboration with the federal government would open doors for more infrastructure, social welfare, and investment opportunities across the state.

He urged Nigerians to disregard criticisms targeted at Tinubu’s administration, insisting that the President deserves re-election in 2027 alongside Oborevwori.

The aide emphasized that media attacks against the presidency were sponsored attempts to distract from ongoing reforms and projects that will soon bear fruit.

Observers note that Oborevwori, who emerged as governor after the 2023 elections, has focused heavily on grassroots projects to strengthen his base.

His MORE agenda, which prioritizes development, security, and social inclusion, has been widely promoted by his aides as a people-centered governance model.

Political analysts argue that Okporoko’s statement signals an early campaign narrative by the governor’s loyalists ahead of the next electoral season.

They also suggest that aligning with Tinubu’s presidency could help Oborevwori secure federal support and attract resources to Delta State.

However, critics warn that early endorsements risk alienating opposition voices and might heighten political tensions within the state’s diverse power blocs.

Delta politics has historically been competitive, with rival factions often using grassroots mobilization to challenge incumbents.

Still, Okporoko insisted that Oborevwori’s achievements were enough to silence detractors, adding that the governor was already building legacies beyond partisan politics.

He said Deltans had no reason to consider a change in 2027 since the governor had fulfilled key promises within his first two years in office.

Supporters at the event echoed similar sentiments, chanting solidarity songs and pledging loyalty to the governor ahead of the next election.

The endorsement of Tinubu by Okporoko also reflects a growing trend among state-level politicians who seek to align with the presidency for strategic advantage.

As 2027 approaches, analysts believe Oborevwori’s grassroots programs and political alliances will play decisive roles in shaping Delta’s electoral outcome.
