A female political thug known as “Arugba” has threatened voters in Osun State, warning that those who fail to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during Saturday’s off cycle governorship election risk having the finger used to cast their ballot cut off.
In a video which has gone viral on social media, the female thug was seen with her foot soldiers making inflammatory statements and attempting to instil fear among residents ahead of the election.
While addressing voters in the video, she warned those who intend to vote for parties other than the APC against coming out to exercise their franchise.
“We will cut the finger you used to vote [for] any party except APC. That finger won’t follow you go back home that day,” she said.
“Let them know we are coming for them. Don’t worry to even come out to vote [if you are not going to vote for APC]. Don’t dare us. We are not making empty threats. We mean what we say.”
Police authorities in Osun State are yet to issue an official statement in respect to the unfortunate development.
Meanwhile, the development comes amid heightened tension ahead of Saturday’s election.
The political atmosphere in the state has been highly charged, with supporters of the governor, who is seeking a second term on the platform of Accord, and the APC trading accusations and verbal attacks.Government Policy Updates.
