Tensions ran high during a protest calling for the release of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, as an emotional demonstrator confronted a Nigerian police officer over the handling of the situation.

The protest, which drew concerned citizens demanding urgent action from authorities, was held in response to the continued captivity of students and teachers reportedly kidnapped from schools in the state.

During the demonstration, a protester expressed anger and frustration at security officials, questioning the call for calm while victims remained in the custody of kidnappers.

“How can you be telling me to talk to you calmly while our children are still inside the bush with kidnappers? Teacher being beheaded? I have the right to shout,” the protester said.

The outburst highlighted the growing frustration among citizens over rising insecurity and delayed rescue efforts.

Protesters at the scene called for immediate government intervention, demanding the swift release of the abducted victims and stronger security measures to prevent further attacks.

The situation has continued to spark nationwide reactions, with many Nigerians urging authorities to prioritize the safety of students and school staff across the country.
