The Anambra Police Command has arrested 26-year-old Chibuike Anikpe for allegedly murdering his 35-year-old girlfriend, Ogochukwu Mmadubugwu, in Ekwulobia.

According to Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, Anikpe confessed to stabbing Mmadubugwu in the neck with a knife on December 9, 2025, due to suspicions of infidelity.

He also admitted to dropping a fake letter claiming to have been kidnapped by creditors to avoid suspicion.

The police have debunked rumors that the crime was committed by people Anikpe owed money to, stating these claims are false.
