LONDON, ENGLAND — The Premier League has officially confirmed four changes to Arsenal’s festive fixture schedule, following discussions with the Football Supporters’ Association and club Fan Advisory Boards, providing supporters with early notice to plan their travel arrangements during the busy Christmas and New Year period.
Mikel Arteta’s side will begin the Christmas and New Year period with an away trip to Crystal Palace. The match at Selhurst Park will take place on Sunday, December 27, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm. The fixture could also see former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah face his old club if he is fit and selected, adding an intriguing subplot to the London derby.
Arsenal will then face another London opponent when they travel to Craven Cottage to meet Fulham. The fixture has been moved to Wednesday, December 30, with the game starting at 7.30pm. The short trip across the capital represents a challenging away fixture during a congested period of the season.
The Gunners will return to the Emirates Stadium for their next two fixtures. Ipswich Town will visit north London on Saturday, January 2, with the match scheduled for a traditional 3pm kick-off. The encounter will not be televised in the United Kingdom because it falls within the traditional Saturday 3pm blackout, meaning supporters will need to attend in person to follow the action.
Brentford will then travel to the Emirates on Tuesday, January 5. The final fixture of the festive schedule will begin at 7.30pm. Three of Arsenal’s four matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
The Premier League confirmed the selections early to give supporters more time to organise their travel plans. Clubs have also been given a minimum of 60 hours between matches during the Christmas and New Year period, a measure aimed at protecting player welfare amid the demanding schedule.
Arsenal’s festive run comes after the opening phase of their Champions League campaign, with the schedule including two away matches and two home fixtures. The Gunners will be looking to maintain their momentum in both domestic and European competitions as they navigate a crucial period of the season.
The confirmation of the festive schedule provides clarity for Arsenal supporters, who now have several months to prepare for the demanding period. With matches against London rivals Crystal Palace and Fulham, followed by home fixtures against Ipswich and Brentford, the Gunners face a challenging but potentially rewarding festive programme as they continue their pursuit of domestic and European success.
