Pro-democracy group, Igbodike Movement has declared that President Bola Tinubu deserve second term in office following what it described as his administration’s achievements.
The Igbo group made the declaration in a statement issued by it’s national coordinator, Dr. Peter Nwankwo, which a copy was made available to Diaspora Digital Media.
Igbodike Movement argued that the success Tinubu’s administration has recorded in economic and fiscal reforms, stabilization efforts and business environment changes, infrastructure, housing, and transportation initiatives, security, governance, and anti-corruption posture is enough for him to be re-elected.
The statement reads: “Igbodike Movement, arising from it’s meeting, after evaluating and checkmating the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as the president of Nigeria, Igbodike Movement noted some of his administration’s achievements as follows;
“Economic and fiscal reforms
“Removal/reshaping of fuel subsidy and major changes to energy pricing to reduce heavy government spending.
“President Tinubu’s Foreign exchange reforms intended to improve market efficiency and address currency distortions has yielded results
“Tax and revenue-strengthening efforts aiming to improve government collections and widen the fiscal space.
“Stabilization efforts and Business Environment changes
“President Tinubu’s administration policy moves in supporting macroeconomic stabilization including steps to reduce inflation pressures over time has yielded tremendous positive results among the Nigeria youths.
“His reforms affecting trade and currency access that were meant to make imports and doing business less constrained has successfully cleared the business environments in Nigeria.
“Increased focus on infrastructure and execution with government signaling more delivery-oriented budgeting in key sectors.
“Infrastructure, Housing, and Transportation Initiatives
“High-profile road and transport projects (rehabilitation, expansion, and upgrades) tied to improved internal movement and economic activity.
“Urban development and housing-related commitments including efforts to increase housing delivery options.
Revival/expansion of public works across different states and sectors.
“Security, Governance, and Anti-corruption Posture
“Stronger anti-corruption and governance reforms including enforcement actions and institutional strengthening.
“Security operations and policies aimed at tackling terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of insecurity are big scorecards for President Tinubu’s administration.
“Igbodike Movement reiterate our uncompromising call that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserve a second term in office to complete his robust infrastructural developments.”
