The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has announced plans to host a Kidney Day awareness programme on April 8, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote preventive healthcare and public health education.
The initiative, led under the administration of the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Chizindu Alikor, is aimed at increasing awareness about kidney health, highlighting the risks associated with kidney disease, and encouraging early detection through regular medical checks.
According to the hospital, the programme will also focus on educating participants about lifestyle choices that can help maintain healthy kidney function.
Members of the public have been encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about protecting their health through informed decisions and preventive care.
