African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is being given steroids to create the impression that he is strong and energetic.
Sowore made the claim on Monday while addressing his supporters outside the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he appeared for his ongoing cybercrime trial.
He alleged that Tinubu had “run away” and claimed he was being given steroids to project an image of strength.
The allegation has not been independently verified, and Sowore did not provide evidence to support the claim.
Sowore also spoke about his cybercrime case, saying the Department of State Services wants to continue the case while his legal team is also pursuing its own action.
He said the broader issue, in his view, was the struggle between Nigerians and what he described as irresponsible leadership.
On his political plans, Sowore listed improved electricity supply, better pay for teachers, modern rail, water and air transportation, free education and higher wages among his priorities.
He said his target was to provide up to 22 hours of electricity daily and proposed paying workers ₦500,000 a week.
Sowore also criticised the remuneration of senators, arguing that teachers should receive higher salaries.
He further dismissed reports of his involvement in a political coalition with other opposition figures, saying his party was not part of the arrangement.
“We are not stepping down, we are stepping up the game,” he said.
