‘Tinubu Has Failed Nigerians’ — Political Supporters Clash Over President’s Performance

A heated exchange between supporters of President Bola Tinubu and the opposition-aligned “Obedient” movement has sparked debate online, with both sides offering sharply different views of the president’s performance.

The argument began with a supporter identified as Zekeri Idris, who criticised the Tinubu administration over its handling of insecurity and the protection of lives and property in Nigeria.

Idris argued that Nigerians should be willing to consider an untested alternative rather than continue with a government he described as failing.

“ It is better to test an untested person than to sustain a failing individual. Bola Tinubu has failed to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians,” he said.

A supporter of the president, identified as a “Batist,” strongly disagreed, defending Tinubu as the strongest candidate among Nigeria’s recent political options.

According to the supporter, Tinubu not only has the experience required to lead the country but also possesses the right intentions for Nigeria. He further argued that without the president’s leadership, the country could have faced even greater challenges.

The contrasting positions reflect the deep political divide that continues to shape conversations about Nigeria’s leadership, particularly around security, economic conditions and the direction of the country.

While Tinubu’s supporters continue to point to his policies and experience as reasons for backing his administration, critics maintain that the government should be judged primarily by its ability to improve security and the living conditions of Nigerians.

The exchange has generated further reactions online, with Nigerians debating whether political leaders should be judged by their intentions, their experience or measurable results delivered while in office.
