President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, urging its leaders to quickly agree to U.S. demands over its nuclear programme or face tougher consequences.
Speaking via his Truth Social, Trump said Iran needs to “get smart soon,” signalling frustration with stalled negotiations.
The warning comes as Washington ramps up pressure, including a naval blockade targeting Iranian ports.
The U.S. is reportedly considering keeping the blockade in place until Iran agrees to scale back key parts of its nuclear programme.
Meanwhile, Iran has proposed a framework aimed at easing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz a critical global oil route.
The proposal includes partially reopening the strait in exchange for relief from U.S. sanctions.
However, Tehran has rejected what it calls “excessive demands,” insisting it will not bow to pressure.
Iranian officials say the country still has options if tensions escalate again.
