Trump Threatens Iranian Infrastructure After Attacks on Ships

Share this:

US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will begin targeting Iranian infrastructure if Tehran continues attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump said every future Iranian attack on vessels in the strategic waterway would be met with US strikes on bridges or power plants inside Iran, including facilities near Tehran.

The warning came as Trump travelled to attend the return of the remains of American service members killed during recent Iranian attacks on US military facilities in the Middle East.

The president said the United States could not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons and pledged to honour the fallen troops.

The conflict has already cost Washington an estimated $37.5 billion, while Iran has continued retaliatory attacks against American military positions across the Gulf region
