A disturbing video circulating on social media has raised concerns after two young women were allegedly thrown out of a moving vehicle in the Ogombo area of Ajah, Lagos State.
The footage reportedly shows the moment the two women were left by the roadside, with one appearing conscious while the other seemed unresponsive and in need of urgent medical attention.
According to an account given by the woman who appeared conscious in the video, the pair had allegedly met a young man through TikTok, who invited them to meet for what he described as a pleasant outing. However, what was expected to be a social encounter reportedly ended in a frightening situation.
The woman claimed that after meeting the individual, they were allegedly given or exposed to unknown substances that left them in a severely weakened or disoriented condition. She suggested that they may have been forcibly intoxicated before being abandoned.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged meeting, the identity of the man involved and what happened inside the vehicle remain unclear. It has also not been independently established what substances, if any, the women may have been exposed to.
The condition of the second woman has generated particular concern, as she appeared unresponsive in the circulating footage. There is currently no independently verified information confirming whether she regained consciousness or received medical treatment.
The incident has also renewed conversations about the risks associated with meeting strangers first encountered on social media platforms. While online platforms can help people connect, invitations from individuals whose identities and intentions have not been properly established can expose users to serious risks.
As of the time of writing, no verified statement from the Lagos State Police Command confirming the incident, identifying suspects or providing details of an investigation was found. The allegations therefore remain unconfirmed, and the account in the video should not be treated as an established account of what happened.
Authorities are expected to establish the identities of those involved, determine how the women ended up by the roadside and investigate whether any criminal offence occurred.
The incident has prompted renewed calls for caution when accepting invitations from strangers online, particularly when the proposed meeting involves travelling to unfamiliar locations or entering private vehicles.
