Wirtz snubs Bayern, Man City; agrees €100m deal to join Liverpool

Premier League champions Liverpool Football Club are on the verge of signing Bayer Leverkusen’s star midfielder, Florian Wirtz, in a transfer that worth about €100 million.
The playmaker was seriously linked to Manchester City and FC Bayern Munich of Germany.
According to inside sources, Wirtz has given his personal approval to join the Reds, and the two clubs are now discussing the deal’s structure.
The 22-year-old German international has been making waves in European football with his exceptional performances, boasting 161 successful take-ons and 124 chances created from open-play since the start of last season.
Wirtz’s impressive statistics have caught the attention of top clubs across the continent, but Liverpool’s ambitious project and coach Arne Slot’s clear vision for the player seem to have won him over.
Slot’s influence on Wirtz’s decision cannot be overstated.
The Dutch coach’s meeting with the player was reportedly crucial in securing his services.
Slot outlined a clear sporting plan for Wirtz, showcasing Liverpool’s commitment to building on their Premier League title success.
This convinced Wirtz that Liverpool is the perfect platform for him to grow and succeed.
The deal may also include a player exchange, with Bayer Leverkusen looking to strengthen their squad with a goalkeeper, centre-back, and striker.
Potential Liverpool players involved in the deal could include out of favour Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, or Tyler Morton.
Wirtz’s statistics are truly remarkable. Since the start of last season, he has:
– Completed 161 successful take-ons
– Created 124 chances from open-play
– Scored 20+ goals and provided 20+ assists in the Bundesliga.
Liverpool’s commitment to building a strong squad is evident in their pursuit of Wirtz.
The Reds are looking to strengthen their midfield with a player who can make a significant impact on the team.
The Wirtz’s deal follows last week’s capture of blistering full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
While Virgil van Dijk has yet to even lift the Premier League trophy to signal the end of the season, Liverpool have wasted no time in making moves in the transfer window.
Frimpong’s £29.5 million release clause was triggered and a medical completed on Merseyside.
Diaspora Digital Media gathered that Frimpong’s “arrival set to be confirmed when the transfer window opens,” which is on June 1.
There are two transfer windows this summer to accommodate the Club World Cup, with the first between June 1 and June 10, before it reopens on June 16 and runs until September 1.
While the Dutchman will have been interviewed at the AXA Training Centre and partaken in the customary new signing photoshoot, Liverpool are set to wait to unveil their first summer signing.
As it stands, though, Liverpool’s new signings will not be unveiled in Adidas gear as their new contract does not start until August 1 – negotiations would be needed with Nike for an early exit from their deal.
Although official confirmations will seemingly have to wait, Richard Hughes and Co. are certainly wasting little time in ensuring Arne Slot has the squad he wants for the start of pre-season on July 8.
