The 100 Achievers team has facilitated with the duo of the revered Royal Father of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu CON and the father of space science in Africa, Prof P.N Okeke on their respective birthdays, marked recently ,describing them as great personalities who have made invaluable contributions to the society and who have become role models in the different institutions they represent.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen, one of the coordinators of the group, Barr. Lizzy Anyaonu described the Royal father as a bridge builder and true definition of a rallying force and father figure who has led Nnewi with great wisdom and enthroned justice in the great community.
“Your reign has been characterized by a long period of peace and prosperity in your kingdom and nobody is in doubt of the fact that your people are very proud of where they come from hence the groveling respect they accord you .
“You’re a very wise and accommodating monarch and that may be the reason investors are falling head over heels to establish a foothold in your domain and this has placed Nnewi on the global map as the industrial hub of Africa,” the group said.
Commending Prof. P.N Okeke, the group described the erudite professor and the father of space science in Africa as one of Nigeria’s gift to the world.
Speaking further, they maintained that professor Okeke would go in history as one of the greatest scientists from Africa , whose contributions have enriched the academia.
“Your story from grass to grace is still a big wonder and an inspiration to many. It is a big irony that a boy who did not have a basic education would today be the master of space science in the continent.
“This is a challenge to anybody who believes that life’s circumstances could limit their goals in life”.
Continuing, the group lauded Prof. P. N Okeke for his well researched and simplified textbook, which has made the learning of physics very easy at secondary school level, thereby assisting Nigeria meet up with its growing demand for scientists and praised him for his outstanding mentorship role which has seen almost half of Nigerian physicists passed through him and almost everybody inclined to science in the country and even beyond made use of his textbook.
The group urged the celebrants never to relent in their great service to humanity and prayed God to continue to grant them sound health and wisdom with which to continue offering their best to the society.
On another development, the Team joins millions of Nigerians to mourn the maestro crooner, Chief Morroco Maduka who passed on recently at the age of 73.
Eulogizing Chief Maduka, the group expressed joy about the kind of quality life the top highlife musician led, using his music to promote Igbo people, language and culture.
“Your death signifies the end of an era in the kind of music you are known for. For over 25 years, you have bestridden the music industry like a colossus ,enriching the Igbo philosophy with powerful proverbs and anecdotes.
“And this may not be unconnected with the reason many Nigerians ,particularly ndi Igbo were devastated over the news of your demise.”
The group condoled the entire Maduka family and urged them to take solace in the fact that their patriarch left good legacies that would be remembered for years to come.
