2 children killed as explosion hits Kaduna

An explosion rocked the Abakpa area of Kaduna State on Tuesday, killing two children and injuring three residents.

The victims include a 13-year-old boy, Imam, and a six-year-old girl, Nasrin.

The explosion occurred just two kilometers away from the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), sending shockwaves through the community.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene following the explosion, with residents rushing to assist the injured.

One local, whodoesn’t want to be quoted said: “I was taking my bath when I heard a loud bang. I ran out and saw Imam. I tried to rush him to the hospital, but he passed away on the way.”

Though the exact cause of the blast remains unknown, but security agencies have launched investigation to determine what caused the deadly incident.
