Fire on Monday morning, gutted one of the structures in the Opadoyin complex of former governor of Oyo state, late Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Two people were reportedly killed while valuables worth millions of Naira were also destroyed.
The Sector Commandant of the state Fire Service, Ogbomoso Command, Mr. Oluwaseyi Awogbile, who confirmed the incident, said the fire incident occured around 7:30. a.m.
He noted that the cause of the fire could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, adding that the service would soon unmask what might have led to the incident.
Meanwhile, a source said that the conflagration was likely caused by a power surge.
It was gathered that one of the victims died instantly while the other gave up the ghost at Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso where she was rushed to for medical attention.
