According to reports, the officers, Major JM Ganaks and Captain Binuga, are believed to have escaped and left Nigeria.

The authorities have not officially confirmed the coup plot, but the Defence Headquarters stated that the investigation is part of a routine internal process to ensure discipline and professionalism within the ranks.

The alleged coup plot was reportedly foiled in late September, with plans to assassinate top government officials, including President Bola Tinubu.

The military has been investigating the matter, and more arrests are expected as the probe continues.
