Two Nigerian military officers have gone into hiding after being linked to an alleged plot to overthrow the government.
According to reports, the officers, Major JM Ganaks and Captain Binuga, are believed to have escaped and left Nigeria.
The military has detained over 30 officers in connection with the alleged coup plot, with some detainees cooperating while others refuse to speak.
Major JM Ganaks, a member of Regular Course 58 of the Nigerian Defence Academy, was stationed in Jaji, Kaduna State, while Captain Binuga, from Regular Course 64, was attached to DHQ SOF Bida, Niger State.
The authorities have not officially confirmed the coup plot, but the Defence Headquarters stated that the investigation is part of a routine internal process to ensure discipline and professionalism within the ranks.
The alleged coup plot was reportedly foiled in late September, with plans to assassinate top government officials, including President Bola Tinubu.
The military has been investigating the matter, and more arrests are expected as the probe continues.
