2 People Die Over Suspected Food Poisoning
The chief medical director, Kubwa general hospital, Dr Lasisi Akinola has confirmed two deaths from food poisoning, in in Kubwa 11 local education authority (LEA ).
Confirming the death, the chief medical director, Kubwa general hospital, Dr Lasisi Akinola said that the two persons that were rushed to the hospital are now stable.
Dr Lasisi also noted that their condition was not related to the alleged food poisoning. He said the pupils were sick not as a result of the alleged food poisoning. He noted that the children have been sick long before now.
Addressing journalist during a visit to the school, the council chairman Hon Musa Dikko closed down the school till Monday 26. Dikko said that Naima Yahaya,14, primary five and Yahaya Garba,14, primary four are alleged to have lost their lives due to their consumption of biscuit that was shared on Tuesday by an unidentified birthday celebrant.
He further revealed that Aisha Isa and Hasia Haruna have been taken to hospital for treatment, adding that the authorities are yet to receive report on the exact cause of deaths and ailments. He explained that one Moses Sunday also died from a fight involving other pupils which is completely not related to the alleged biscuit circulated by the organisers of the party. “We have suspended activities in the school from Wednesday to Friday.
God willing, they will resume on Monday,” he said He called on parents and guardians to be patient and allow the security agencies to do their job to get to the root of the anomaly. The chairman added that the security agencies are investigating to unravel the real cause of deaths and bring to justice those involved.
Divisional police officer DPO Kubwa, CSP Surajudeen Ayobami said suspects have been arrested in respect to the death of Moses Sunday.
