A tragic attack occurred on November 4, 2025, when terrorists ambushed the convoy of Hon. Jafaru Mohammad Ali Damisa, a member of the House of Representatives representing Agwara/Borgu Federal Constituency in Niger State.
The attack, which took place around 11 a.m. along the Babanna road, resulted in the deaths of two soldiers, while several others, including civilians and security operatives, were injured.
The ambush occurred at Audu-Fari village along the Babanna road, where bandits opened fire on the convoy.
The joint security team in the convoy responded promptly, repelling the attack and rescuing the lawmaker to safety.
The injured were taken to the General Hospital in New Bussa for medical treatment.
The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incident, with spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun stating that the attack was successfully repelled by the joint security team.
The lawmaker, Hon. Jafaru Mohammad Ali Damisa, escaped unhurt and was reported to be safe.
This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by lawmakers and citizens in Nigeria’s northwestern region.
