2023: Atiku reportedly meets APC governors after Tinubu met PDP governors

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reportedly met with some governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a tit-for-tat.

The meeting is coming barely hours after the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, met with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and others in France.

According to the report, those in company of Governor Wike outside the country in preparation for the 2023 general elections, include the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde.

In sharp reaction, Atiku Abubakar also reportedly met in an undisclosed venue with some APC governors and stakeholders seeking support for his presidential ambition.

Speaking after the meeting, a source belonging to the Tinubu camp, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the discussions were very fruitful, adding that a series of other meetings have also been scheduled.

In the meantime, details of the meeting between Atiku and the APC governors is yet to be ascertained.

A source, however, revealed that the meeting is not unconnected with efforts on both sides to woo governors, who wield enormous influence on their various parties, to their side of the bargain.
