Google, on Tuesday, has released its “2024 Year in Search” report for Nigeria, highlighting top trends including Bobrisky, Beta Edu, Shallipopi, and Ogechi lyrics.

According to the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the annual report was shared by the Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Google West Africa, Mr. Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade.

According to Ogunlade, the report offers valuable insights into the questions and interests that defined the lives of Nigerians throughout the year.

Google’s Year in Search serves as an annual analysis that highlights the most searched topics, individuals, and events, showcasing what captures the attention of the global audience, according to report.

Ogunlade explained that these trends reflect popular searches across various categories, including significant personalities, entertainment, and pressing societal issues.

In 2024, Bobrisky emerged as the most searched personality in Nigeria, closely followed by Beta Edu. On a global scale, Donald Trump dominated search interest.

“2024 Year in Search” also noted searches related to notable figures who passed away, including Junior Pope and Herbert Wigwe.

The report also highlighted that Nigerians maintained a strong interest in entertainment, with films like “A Tribe Called Judah,” “Treasure in the Sky,” and “Damsel” topping the charts.

These films, according to the report resonated with audiences, reflecting a vibrant cinematic culture.

In television, series such as “Supacell,” “My Demon,” and “Queen of Tears” captured the attention of viewers, showcasing the variety of content available to Nigerian audiences.

Culinary interests also emerged in the search trends, with diverse recipes gaining popularity.

“The “Pornstar Martini recipe” topped the list, illustrating a growing curiosity about mixology and innovative cocktails among Nigerians.”
