Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s 2023 vice presidential candidate, has warned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against fielding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election.

According to Baba-Ahmed, if the ADC brings out Atiku, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) “knows how to work against him”.

He believes Atiku’s political blueprint is too familiar to the APC, making him an easy target to defeat.

Baba-Ahmed argues that Atiku’s repeated presidential bids have made his strategies predictable, allowing the APC to prepare effective countermeasures.

He notes that the APC has already defeated Atiku twice and understands him too well.

The ADC needs a candidate with a shock factor to upset the APC’s calculations.

Baba-Ahmed suggests that Atiku’s familiarity makes him a less effective candidate for the ADC’s coalition.

The APC’s past successes against Atiku give them an edge in future elections.

Baba-Ahmed warns the ADC against underestimating the APC’s ability to outmaneuver Atiku.

Atiku has vowed to resist any form of election rigging in the 2027 general elections.

He aims to champion a new era of credible leadership under the ADC, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.

The ADC must weigh Baba-Ahmed’s warning against Atiku’s determination to resist rigging.

They may consider alternative candidates with fresh perspectives and strategies.

The APC will likely focus on exploiting Atiku’s predictability and leveraging their experience to outmaneuver him.

President Bola Tinubu’s camp may develop targeted strategies to address potential vulnerabilities in Atiku’s campaigns.
