Mr. Nysom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has reiterated his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike declared he will never leave the party for Buccaneers and Vampires.

He said this during his monthly media chat in Abuja on Monday.

Wike revealed that his decision to remain in the PDP was driven by a desire to prevent certain unnamed individuals whom he referred to as Buccaneers and Vampires from taking over the party and emerging as its presidential flag bearer.

The former governor of Rivers State insisted that he would continue to fight for internal reform within the party.

According to him, leaving the PDP would have paved the way for those he believes are detrimental to its future.

Wike said: “Now what is the problem in PDP, if you are saying that you are an opposition party, are you not supposed to be the one to put yourself in order and fight the ruling party?

“What is happening in PDP today, have I not predicted it before now?
I will not leave the PDP until the right thing is done.

“I will not leave this party which I have done everything for, for the Buccaneers and Vampires.

“If I had left the party, the Buccaneers and Vampires would have taken over the party”.
