2027: No Politician Can Unseat Tinubu — Bwala

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has confidently stated that no political figure, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, can defeat Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

His remarks come amid rising speculation and calls for Jonathan to re-enter active politics, which Bwala dismissed as a calculated ploy.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Bwala accused certain political actors of trying to lure Jonathan back into politics for ulterior motives.

“Some unscrupulous elements are attempting to hoodwink former President Goodluck Jonathan into re-entering politics just to destroy the reputation he has carefully built globally since leaving office,” Bwala said.

He pointed out that the political landscape in southern Nigeria, Jonathan’s home region, has increasingly aligned with Tinubu, citing strong support from several governors.

Bwala further questioned the intentions of northern politicians encouraging Jonathan to run.

“The same elements urging him to come back were they not the ones who opposed or chased him away during his presidency?

How can he trust their motives this time?” he asked, highlighting the political inconsistencies.

Bwala also noted that the class of politicians currently attempting to persuade Jonathan to rejoin politics lacks sincerity.

He praised Jonathan’s political acumen, emphasizing that the former president understands the risks of returning under these circumstances.

“President Jonathan is smarter than to fall for such schemes,” Bwala added.

Furthermore, Bwala expressed absolute confidence that Tinubu would prevail against any challenger.

“Even if Jonathan decides to run, I have analyzed the current political climate in Nigeria.

I speak strictly to facts, not speculation. No politician currently possesses the capacity to knock off President Bola Tinubu,” he stated firmly.

He emphasized that Tinubu’s strategic alliances, both in southern and northern Nigeria, have created a formidable political coalition.

Observers note that Tinubu’s influence among governors, legislators, and party officials makes it extremely difficult for any opposition figure to gain traction.

“The political machinery supporting Tinubu is robust, coordinated, and highly effective. This sets the stage for his continued leadership in 2027,” Bwala explained.

While Jonathan has not publicly confirmed whether he will contest in 2027, Bwala’s remarks suggest that the political terrain strongly favors Tinubu.

Analysts say that even if Jonathan enters the race, he faces an uphill battle due to Tinubu’s consolidated support base and strong party organization.

As the nation prepares for the next general elections, Bwala’s statements underscore the strength of Tinubu’s political position and signal to the opposition that challenging his leadership will require unprecedented effort.

“The facts on the ground clearly show that no politician can dislodge President Bola Tinubu, not Jonathan, nor any other prominent contender,” he concluded, reinforcing the administration’s confidence in the 2027 electoral outcome.
