2027 Pres election: ADC will dislodge Tinubu, APC – Aregbesola

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is confident it can dislodge President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

According to Rauf Aregbesola, the Interim National Secretary of the ADC and former Osun State Governor, unity among opposition forces is key to achieving this goal,

Aregbesola emphasized that the ADC is building a large coalition of progressive-minded Nigerians to challenge President Tinubu’s administration.

This coalition has garnered significant support from prominent opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Aregbesola stressed the importance of unity across presidential, National Assembly, and state elections.

He believes that with unity, the ADC cannot be defeated, adding, “Let us put personal interests aside and unite.

We have multiple elections ahead—presidential, National Assembly, and state elections—and with unity, we cannot be defeated.”

The ADC is gaining momentum, with top politicians defecting from other parties to join the coalition.

Notable defectors include former APC National Chairman, John Oyegun, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and Aregbesola himself.

Former Vice President of Nigeria and is a prominent figure in the opposition.

Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections
is prominent politician and potential presidential candidate for the ADC.

Nasir El-Rufai, Former Kaduna State Governor and a strong contender for the ADC’s presidential ticket.

Aregbesola acknowledged that managing the size and diverse interests of the coalition would be a challenge, but emphasized that there’s room for everyone.

The ADC needs to maintain unity and cohesion among its members to achieve electoral success in 2027.

The ADC’s emergence as a unifying platform for Nigeria’s opposition has redefined the 2027 election dynamics.
