A tragic accident occurred on Monday evening in Gombe State, Nigeria, claiming the lives of seven members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and leaving four others injured.
The journalists were returning from a wedding ceremony in Gombe South Senatorial District when their bus was involved in a fatal crash.
According to the Gombe State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samson Kaura, a total of 11 people were involved in the accident.
Preliminary findings suggest that the crash was likely caused by a tyre burst, which led to the vehicle somersaulting.
FRSC rescue teams were promptly deployed to the scene, and the injured victims were taken to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
The investigation is still ongoing, and a comprehensive report will be released once the operation is completed.
