He said, “The people killed on the issue of Southern kaduna since I was born in 1964 are more than 6000 to 7000 people.
“There are orphans who lost their parents when they were toddlers, there are people who lost family members, so we need to stop denying, there are criminal Muslims and criminal Christians, we should form a platform to confront criminals in our midst.
“We need peace more than any other person because I don’t want any other person to suffer what my people have suffered.”
The title of the Elombah TV virtual conference held on Sunday, August 30, 2020, was ‘Southern Kaduna Crisis: land grabbing, terrorism or communal violence?’

Maikudi explained that many people still attribute the major reason for the crisis in Southern Kaduna to what happened 200 years ago.
Responding to the claims of a co-panellist who claimed that some invaders conquered and enslaved the people of southern Kaduna some centuries ago, Maikudi said, “According to them, what is exactly causing the violence and conflict in Southern Kaduna is that they were enslaved 200 years ago.”
According to Maikudi, the source of the crisis is the refusal of some ethnic groups to accept other ethnic groups as equal indigenes of the area.
“Some people are special, their legs have reached the 21st century, but their hearts are still in antiquity.
“If there was slavery 200 years ago, It is not the current Muslims, current Hausa, or current Fulani that did it and slavery and conquest is as old as human history.

“The entire human history is nothing but about power relationship between different entities.
“The history of human civilization is a struggle for supremacy and conquest.
“The entire North Africa were not an Arab land, but it is now Arab land. ”
Lamenting the killings Maikudi said, “Southern Kaduna is abundantly blessed, but they don’t know how to count their blessings and thank God for that.
“There is no position in this country that they have not had, they have had Chief of Army Staff, Vice Chancellors of Universities, Ministers , Ambassadors, federal permanent secretaries, apart from the Presidency there was no single position that the Southern Kaduna has not had and if as at today they are still talking about marginalization, I will leave it between them and God.
“Right from the first Republic, they had members at National Assembly.
“They were there right from the beginning, they have their son who was GMD of NNPC, instead of investing the money in private Universities, Private hospitals, private businesses, the man decided to keep the dollars inside an air condition.
“It is a big fallacy to say they have been marginalized. They have had more 100 Major Generals, brigadiers, Colonels.”
