Tragedy struck on Friday when a mosque collapsed in Zaria local government area of Kaduna State killing eight worshippers and injuring seven others.
The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, confirmed the unfortunate incident. He said that the collapse occured during observance of the Asr prayer.
Mallam Nuhu however, extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families of the victims. He also directed that prayers be conducted outside the mosque until the necessary repairs are concluded.
He added that the funeral prayers for the departed would be held at 8:30 pm on the same day within the premises of the Emir’s palace.
