No less than nine people, according to Bodija Estate Residents Association, are believed to be missing since the recent explosion in Ibadan caused by mining ordinance, it has been learnt by DDM early Thursday morning.
The association, however, had begun since Wednesday raise this awareness asking relevant authorities to pitch in effort to resolve the puzzle.
According to them, these missing persons are yet to be seen last week of the explosion, apart from those declared dead.
Explosives, believed to be dynamites kept illegally for mining purpose, exploded last week Tuesday, killing at least five people, with 77 others injured.
President of the Bodija association, Muyiwa Bamgbose disclosed that they have been looking for nine residents of the area since the incident occurred.
He said this was based on their findings while collating data of the residents and the number of affected houses.
“It is now nine people that are missing.
“We have brought the map of the street, and we are trying to account for house by house, that is how we can actually get an accurate figure.
“If a person was seen yesterday and you cannot find him today, then you know you need to get worried.”
