An Ambassador-appointee of President Muhammadu Buhari, Ambassador Ingekim Regina Ocheni, Nigerian Deputy Ambassador to Germany, has appeared before the INTERPOL and was grilled for hours over her alleged involvement in criminal activities.

A petitioner, in a letter addressed to the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Embassy of Germany in Abuja, titled “Criminal investigation against Ambassador Ingekim Regina Ocheni (Nigeria Deputy Ambassador to Germany)“, accused Ambassador Ocheni of involvement in some form of corruption, abduction/ human trafficking, forgery, and other allegations.
The petition noted that Ocheni was invited for interrogation on her roles in the alleged crimes vide letter of invitation from National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and INTERPOL in Abuja, dated 8th January, 2021, and 11th January, 2021, respectively, but were ignored.
She was also dragged before the Chairman of Special Unit of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to no avail.
However, following the exclusive report by ElombahNews, the embattled ambassador was compelled to make an appearance at INTERPOL on Friday.
A source, who witnessed the interrogation told this medium that she was sweating during the interrogation and took three bottles of water.
He said: “Ambassador Ocheni appeared at the INTERPOL yesterday to give her statement. The publication humbled her.
“She was sweating and took three bottles of water while making her statement.”
