Iwobi tests negative for Covid-19, returns against Lesotho

The Covid-19 result of Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has shown negative and he has returned to camp to square up against Lesotho.

Recall that Iwobi was isolated in a hotel room after he was declared positive by Benin Republic health authorities.

The declaration came ahead of the AFCON qualifiers match against Benin in their home country which the hosts lost 0-1.

Sources within the Nigerian contingent, however, expressed suspicion over the result in Benin Republic, prompting another test in Lagos.

The result returned negative, which arguably confirmed the suspicion the the one conducted in Benin was fake.

Iwobi has since rejoined the Super Eagles camp and has been included in squad to face Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.
