Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti promises partnership with Ekiti Sports Council for development

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday promised to work in partnership with the Ekiti Sports Council to fast track sports development in the institution.

The polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye, made the promise in Ado-Ekiti while receiving a delegation from the Ekiti Sports Council led by its Acting Chairman, Sola Osetoba.

Oladebeye, who was represented by the institution’s Deputy Rector (Academics), Dr. Olusegun Dada, noted that the council’s visit to the institution was part of efforts at promoting sports development.

“Our institution holds sports in high esteem. You will recall that we won the NIPOGA Games in Ilorin the last time the games were held.

“We promise to work in synergy with the Sports Council to fast track sport development among students of the institution.

“Our institution attracts sportsmen in Ekiti and beyond. We will continue to be partners in progress,” the Rector said.

Speaking also, Dr. Oluwole Ayeni, the Chairman, Sports Committee of the Polytechnic, restated the institution’s commitment to working in synergy with the council.

He noted that the relationship between the Sports Council and the institution had been cordial and it would continue to be mutual.

Earlier, Osetoba had said their visit was to further strengthen the existing relationship with the institution.

“Our visit is to further smooth the relationship which has existed between your institution and the council in terms of sports development.

“We are looking at areas were your students can participate in the council’s sports activities and also host sports events in the institution.

“We believe that this visit will further bond the council and the institution in the area of sports development,” she said.

In his remarks, General Manager of the Ekiti Sports Council, Deji Samo, thanked the polytechnic for its continued cooperation with the council.
