The University of Calabar in Calabar, Cross River State has been shut down following protests by students in the institution of higher learning.
The students reportedly shut down the administration blocks while protesting over lack of adequate water, poor electricity supply, unusual increment of tuition fees, as well as other charges.

Consequent upon the development, the school authority invited security personnels who have since brought the situation under control.
