How Tracka forced change in dilapidated Kebbi primary school

Social media has continued to show increasing relevance in its power to force change and make impacts when properly utilized by the citizens.

Tracka an organization using technology for public accountability has shown how powerful social media has become in helping citizens to demand and hold leaders accountable.

Tracka in the course of their work exposed how children in Maga Model Primary School in Kebbi State learn sitting on the floor because of the deplorable nature of the school.

The exposure generated lots of critiques with many demanding the Kebbi state government to fix the school accusing them of neglecting education.

A demand Tracka was at the forefront pushing.

MAWA Foundation followed the trend and wrote a story about the dilapidated nature of the school, a story that added more force to Tracka’s demand.

The strategic and effective advocacy has led the Kebbi state government to renovate the school.

Children in the school now learn in a better environment while they are happy going to school.

Worse still, Mr. Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture is pushing advocacy regarding Nigeria’s government efforts to gag and regulate social media.
