‘Obidients’ Movement holds mega convention in Lagos, Nigeria, March 17

Nigerians under the aegis of the Obidients Movement are set to hold a grand convention in Lagos, Nigeria, on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

The global movement, inspired by Mr Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party in Nigeria’s presidential election in 2023, has not waned about a year after the poll which Obi and his supporters felt was rigged against them.

The opposition Labour Party had defeated incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in home state, Lagos.

Obi scored 582,454 votes, ahead of Tinubu’s 577,606, according to the electoral commission.

Tinubu had served as Lagos State Governor for eight years between 1999 and 2007.

The proposed convention, according to its organizers, will hold at 19 Joel Ogunnaike Street, Ikeja GRA, opposite Chicken Republic, Lagos, by 1:00pm.

2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Arc. Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, is the host.

The event has ‘Remember’ as its theme.

Mr Peter Obi, Dr Mrs Dayo Ekong, Barr Dele Farotimi and other like-minds are expected to grace the event.

The event shall feature a documentary made from the election in Lagos, speeches and music.

Free buses shall be made available in all the Local Government Areas of Lagos State.
