AFCON 2023 was world class, Congo president tells CAF

President, Democratic Republic of Congo, has heaped praise on President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Dr. Motsepe, saying that the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tournament was world class.

He made this observation during a courtesy visit by CAF General Secretary Mosengo-Omba in Kinshasa on Friday.

President Tshisekedi praised CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and the CAF Leadership for organizing a successful TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire earlier this year.

He is a passionate football supporter and expressed his gratitude for the discussions on football development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

President Tshisekedi also congratulated the CAF Leadership for their work and committed to promoting football development in his country and across the continent.

Additionally, CAF recently launched a coaching program for women’s football in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in partnership with the Congolese Football Federation, to boost women’s football in the country.
