A pregnant woman named Rosemary Ubah and a serving corps member named Pascal Akuh have been arrested by the FCT Police Command for allegedly faking their own kidnapping.

The police received reports from family members claiming that the two individuals had been kidnapped, leading to their separate arrests.

The Commissioner of Police reassured the public that the police force, under his leadership, is committed to preventing crime and ensuring the safety of all citizens.

Pascal Akuh claimed to have faked his kidnapping as a prank to test his girlfriend’s love, while Rosemary Ubah conspired with another man to extort money from her husband by pretending to be kidnapped.

In a separate incident, two suspects were arrested for robbing and attempting to kidnap two individuals in an unregistered Toyota Hilux.

The police recovered the vehicle, a jackknife, and military items from the suspects. The suspects will also be charged in court.

The Commissioner emphasized the importance of cooperation from residents in preventing crime in the FCT.
