Security: Commissioner Ugorji solicits support of Aboh Mbaise royal father’s

The Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji has presented himself and his ministry’s goals and objectives to the leadership of Aboh Mbaise LGA Traditional Rulers Council.

He also solicited the royal fathers’ support for Governor Uzodimma and himself, to enable the government succeed in the very sensitive and critical realm of security and safety for Imo State.

The Commissioner did this during a visit on Monday,10 January 2022, at the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Nguru Nwekeoha Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Marcelinus Nwaturuocha, who is also the Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Traditional Rulers and Community Policing Committee.

Dr. Ugorji was officially accompanied on the courtesy call by some prominent leaders in the area, including but not limited to Dr Iyke Njoku, former Commissioner for Environment, Hon Eddy Obinna, Member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Milo Olewuike, Barrister Mrs Ogechi Njoku, Chief George Ikenna, Barrister Success Akagburuonye, Barrister. Vitalis Onuoha, Tony Awusaku Chairman of Aboh Mbaise APC, and many others.

Speaking, Dr. Ugorji stated that his visit was a personal decision to first and foremost meet the Royal Fathers and present himself and his ministry.

He explained what the Ministry of Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs was all about.

Further, he sought the blessings of the royal fathers as he embarks on what he referred to as the ultimate job assignment.

According to him, Homeland security and Vigilante Affairs is a ministry created by the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, to streamline security efforts and agencies in the state under one Commissioner.

Speaking, Eze Marcellenus Nwaturuocha extolled the governor for the appointment of Dr. Ugorji as a Commissioner and promised that Aboh Mbaise Traditional Rulers will give him full support.

He further expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Uzodimma and pleaded with him to come to the rescue of the area, from the deplorable and unsafe conditions of virtually all roads in the LGA.

In their separate speeches, Eze Barr. Ignatius Ekeocha of Umuoda Nguru and Eze Cosmos Onyeneke (Ise of Mbaise) of Lagwa Okwuato Autonomous Communities, described Dr. Ugorji as a thorough breed and an astute academic, who has come to serve and make a difference.

They said that since the history of politics in Aboh Mbaise, he was the only one appointed as a Commissioner who came home to inform Ndi Eze of the new development.

They promised not only to help him succeed but that they will also continue to pray for him and Governor Uzodimma. The traditional rulers

then proceeded to bless the Commissioner with prayers and water on his head and feet.

In his remarks, Hon Eddy Obinna described Dr. Ugorji’s decision to see Ndi Eze first before other groups was divine in nature.

He assured the people that he was going to work closely with Dr. Ugorji as his brother to ensure that Aboh Mbaise people received a better package of the dividends of democracy.
