Unidentified policeman, was, on Wednesday, killed by gunmen at a checkpoint in Ebonyi State.
The incident, it was gathered, took place at the G-Hostel Junction near the popular PRESCO Junction, in the Abakaliki Metropolis.
The gunmen, who were said to be three in number, operated with a motorcycle.
They reportedly opened fire on the policemen at the checkpoint, killing one instantly.
In the gun duel that ensued, the police killed one of the hoodlums, just as the remaining two made good their escape.
The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident, but said it was still gathering information on the attack.
