A student of the Kwara State University, Ilorin in Nigeria, Mr. Emmanuel Anuoluwapo, has developed a mobile power station, SUNPOD – A 114,000mAh Solar Power Station.

The SUNPOD – A 114,000mAh Solar Power Station is an electricity device meant to solve all electrical needs in an average Nigerian home.

Better still, it can be powered by solar, a free and abundant natural commodity in Africa.

Pictures of the mobile innovation from the Kwara State University student shows an apparatus that can power simple apparat in the home, including electric bulbs.

When Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) visited Anuoluwapo at his work station at the University, he disclosed that the device can solve multiple electrical needs.

He said that the innovation will curb a dearth of electricity in the country if well harnessed and developed.

Speaking to DDM, Anuoluwapo said: “My name is Emmanuel, the Engineering student that came up with an innovation because of lack of electricity in Nigeria.

“I sent all the details regarding my innovation (SUNPOD Solar Power Station) here in order to attract attention.

“I appreciate assistance and support on wanting to help my innovation goes viral in Nigeria and beyond.

“It is indeed a great thing.”

What is the electricity status in Nigeria?

Nigeria faces a triple challenge when it comes to providing reliable power supply, hence the SUNPOD Solar Power Station.

First among them is reliability. The availability of electricity in Nigeria has worsened over the years.

The country has been unable to meet demand due to policies, regulations, and management of operations.

Second is greenhouse gas emissions. Balancing energy needs with environmental concerns is crucial.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is essential for sustainable development.
