Zamfara govt recruits 2000 ‘anti-thuggery’ operatives

The Zamfara State Government has approved the recruitment of 2000 personnel into the State’s anti-thuggery outfit.

Mr Bello Bakyasuwa, the Chairman of the State Anti-thuggery Standing Committee, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Gusau on Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the committee was established by Gov. Bello Matawalle under Executive Order 2 to fight thuggery, drug abuse and other related crimes across the state.

Bakyasuwa cautioned political parties and politicians against sponsoring youths into thuggery, drug abuse and other related crimes in the state.

According to him, the committee would not allow anyone to cause unrest in the state in the name of politics.
