Guinean midfielder Naby Keita has been voted the biggest disappointment of the season in the German Bundesliga, according to a survey conducted by renowned football magazine Kicker.

The survey, which gathered opinions from 227 players across the top German league, saw Keita receive a whopping 25.6 percent of the votes, solidifying his position as the most underwhelming signing of the season.

Keita’s move to Werder Bremen from Liverpool on a free transfer had generated significant excitement, but his on-field performance failed to live up to expectations.

The midfielder made only five appearances for Werder Bremen, totaling a mere 106 minutes of playing time.

His lackluster performance was further marred by controversy when he was suspended by the club for refusing to travel with the team for a match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Keita’s struggles in Germany have left fans and pundits alike scratching their heads, wondering what went wrong for the once-promising midfielder.

“Naby Keita’s performance this season has been extremely disappointing,” said Werder Bremen coach, Ole Werner. “We expected much more from him, but unfortunately, he didn’t deliver.”

“I think Naby Keita’s move to Werder Bremen was a mistake,” said former Liverpool teammate, Sadio Mané. “He’s a talented player, but sometimes things just don’t work out.”

Keita’s underwhelming performance in Germany has raised questions about his future in football. Once considered one of the most promising young midfielders in the world, Keita’s career has stalled in recent years.
